Tom Bennett is currently the Chief of Staff for the Kentucky State Auditor. He has more than two decades of state government experience, served as commissioner and chief law enforcement officer for the Kentucky Departments of Fish and Wildlife Resources from 1993 to 2005 and the Kentucky Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement in 1988. He was also the deputy secretary of the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet and deputy secretary of Governor Brereton Jones' Executive Cabinet.
While commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Tom started the National Archery in the Schools Program. This highly successful “in school” program has gone on the reach millions of school-age youth in most all states in the U.S.
Tom has been instrumental in guiding the "Fishing in Schools" effort from the beginning. His experience with the archery program has been crucial in helping NFSP navigate a stable, consistent course.
Tom is married, with 2 grown daughters and is an avid outdoorsman.
