2022 Grants Program

For K-12 Schools


  • The Fishing Education Foundation (FEF), operating as the National Fishing in Schools Program (NFSP), has a limited number of $1000 grants available for 2022. The grants are awarded to public and private schools to assist them in purchasing and installing one of NFSP’s standards-compliant spincasting or fly fishing curricula. How the grant process works:
  • STEP #1: Requirements - To qualify for a grant a school must:
  • Agree to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding: learn more
  • Participate for a minimum of 3 years
  • Begin teaching the program Spring, 2022, and NLT Fall, 2022
  • Take teacher and student pre- and post- surveys as prescribed learn more
  • Have at least one teacher certified as an NFSP Level 1 Teacher by taking the online training on the NFSP LMS, NFSP CAST (Course Applications for Students & Teachers) learn more
  • STEP #2: Application - Each school makes application for the grant online https://secure.blueoctane.net/forms/F73FTUC0L2CO (or scan the QR Code below)
  • Select the preferred curriculum:
  • “Cast A Lure, Catch A Student” (CALCAS - spincasting)
  • “Cast A Fly, Catch A Student” (CAFCAS - fly fishing)
  • Indicate the amount of grant funds requested:
  • Maximum amount available for grants for CALCAS: $1000
  • CALCAS Program Fee is $2500, less grant, $1500
  • Maximum amount available for grants for CAFCAS: $1000
  • CAFCAS Program Fee is $3500, less grant is $2500
Limited Grants are available on a first-come, first served basis. If you have already applied in the past, we do request that you re-apply using this new/revised application form. Please apply here for the 2022 Grants Program . . .
