FISHING EDUCATION FOUNDATION/ NATIONAL FISHING IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM 2022 GRANTS PROGRAM FOR K-12 SCHOOLS
The Fishing Education Foundation (FEF), operating as the National Fishing in Schools Program (NFSP), has a limited number of $1000 grants available for 2022. The grants are awarded to public and private schools to assist them in purchasing and installing one of NFSP's standards-compliant spincasting or fly fishing curricula.
How the grant process works:
- STEP 1: Requirements - To qualify for a grant a school must:
- Agree to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding - which basically include:
- Participate for a minimum of 3 years
- Begin teaching the program Spring, 2022, and NLT Fall, 2022
- Take teacher and student pre- and post- surveys as prescribed
- STEP 2: APPLICATION - Each school makes application for the grant online: see below
- In the application, select the preferred curriculum:
- "Cast A Lure, Catch A Student" (CALCAS - spincasting), or...
- "Cast A Fly, Catch A Student" (CAFCAS - fly fishing)
- Indicate the amount of grant funds being requested:
- Maximum amount available for grants for CALCAS $1000...
- So, the CALCAS Program Fee is $2500, less grant, $1500 is the school share
- Maximum amount available for grants for CAFCAS $1000...
- So, the CAFCAS Program Fee is $3500, less grant, $2500 is the school share Limited grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have applied in the past, we do request that you re-apply using this new/revised application.
